UPDATE: Tight end Dallas Goedert (knee), wide receiver Britain Covey (neck) and safeties Reed Blankenship (concussion) and Sydney Brown (knee) were listed as not practicing Wednesday on the Eagles’ injury report. The report was an estimation because the Eagles held a walk through. Running back Saquon Barkley, defensive tackle Jalen Carter and edge rusher Josh Sweat were all listed as limited for rest. Mekhi Becton (knee/rest), cornerback Darius Slay (concussion) and wide receiver Johnny Wilson (hamstring) were also listed as limited. DeVonta Smith was a full participant after missing the last two games with a hamstring injury.
PHILADELPHIA — Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert, safety Reed Blankenship and wide receiver Britain Covey each missed Wednesday’s practice with injuries. So they might not play against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
After missing the last few weeks with a hamstring injury, Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith returned to practice on Wednesday. Rookie wide receiver Johnny Wilson and cornerback Darius Slay, who both missed last week with injuries, also practiced.
Goedert sustained a knee injury in the fourth quarter of the Eagles’ 24-19 win over the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday. He will likely be sidelined on a week-to-week basis and could be placed on short-term injured reserve, per the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jeff McLane.

Blankenship suffered a concussion against the Ravens. In the third quarter, he was replaced by backup safety Tristin McCollum, who broke up a pass on fourth-and-8 to end a Ravens’ fourth-quarter drive. McCollum would replace Blankenship against Carolina, too.
Covey hurt his neck late in the fourth quarter on a punt return. Rookie cornerback Cooper DeJean returned punts for seven weeks (Week 4-Week 11) in place of Covey this season and would likely replace him against the Panthers, too.
The Eagles’ tight end room could be without Goedert until the playoffs. Over the next five weeks, backup tight ends C.J. Uzomah and Grant Calcaterra could have to play a lot of snaps.
Earlier this season, Goedert missed three weeks (Weeks 7-9) with a hamstring injury. During that span, Calcaterra did a nice job of stepping in, finishing with nine catches for 93 yards in three starts.
Uzomah signed to the Eagles’ 53-man roster on Wednesday.
The Eagles activated Uzomah from the practice squad for their last three games, which is the maximum number of times a practice squad player can be brought up.
Eagles coach Nick Sirianni told reporters on Wednesday that Uzomah made a big block against Baltimore during the fourth quarter.
